Skip to content LEST WE FORGET
On the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II, over 100 people, and some of our four-legged residents, joined together for our Remembrance Day Wreath-laying Event at 11:00 hours, today, 11th November 2025, at the Memorial Plinth in Lancaster Avenue.
The wonderful poppy tableau as a back-drop, looked spectacular, and all involved, should feel extremely proud of this stunning achievement.
Thanks to Lay Minister Keith Hughes (St Radigund’s Church) and Pam Barr (Baptist Church) for officiating the ceremony.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of our community by; our Parish Council Chairperson (Philippa Seager), St Radigund’s Church (Keith Hughes), Baptist Church (Pam Barr), Kent Police (PC Cheryl Ellis), Kent County Council Community Wardens (Jan Henry), Village Hall Management Committee and Farmers’ Market (Jerry Watson), Capel Cares (Jan Milliken), together with children from Capel Primary School, Casper Nursery, Little Oaks Nursery and owners of our 4 legged friends.
Thank you all for attending and uniting with us for the 2 minutes silence, in honour and respect of those who fought and died for this country.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
If you took any photos and would like them added, please forward to Parish Clerk for inclusion in this post and our website.
