Neighbours Helping Neighbours

A local organisation that aims to support people living in Capel.

Staying independent and being part of the community is important to everyone but there are times during our lives when we could benefit from a little help from our neighbours. CapelCares is a local volunteer organisation run by residents of Capel to support those living in Capel. We can arrange to meet you in your home to discuss any issues or challenges that you may have. Our volunteers are all local residents who have been DBS checked and have trained in Safeguarding.

Our volunteers can help with a variety of issues, including:

Social visits for those living on their own
Home visits to support family carers
Assistance with shopping
Transport support, i.e. to and from medical appointments, etc
Small house maintenance/gardening jobs
Regular phone contact
Helping you make contact with other services

Referrals can be made by anyone for anyone. Our aim is to help residents in Capel remain safe, secure and independent in their own homes, as well as providing support to residents with unexpected, short term challenges that disrupt routine family life.

We hold a regular social coffee morning the 1st Friday of every month at St Randigund’s Hall in Albany Road 10am to midday. Come and join us, meet with your neighbours. Find out more about CapelCares or just enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (with biscuits).

Could you spare a few ours a month to help your neighbour? We are looking for community minded people to join CapelCares as we seek to assist those in Capel-le-Ferne who just need a little help to lead independent lives in their own homes.

Collecting medications
Other urgent supplies
